FURst IMPRESSIONS is a small friendly dog salon in Fairwater, Cardiff. We offer a complete range of dog grooming services from a simple wash and dry to a full breed standard groom.

You can be guaranteed of a personal and professional service each and EVERY time you visit.

Being a small salon means that you and your dog receive one to one attention.  I only take in one dog at a time to be groomed which means that there are no dogs in cages waiting to be groomed and your dog will go home to you as soon as they have been groomed.  This results in a calm relaxed environment for your best friend.

We understand that every dog is different and owners have dogs for different reasons.  Not everyone wants a “show look”.  There are hundreds of styling options that will be appropriate to the dog based on the lifestyle of the dog and your wishes.  Our role is to select the styling option that will make you and your best friend happy.

Whatever your requirement, you can be assured that your best friend will be treated with kindness and respect at all times.

The golden rule is “humanity before vanity”

I am a passionate animal lover, having owned dogs for over 30 years.  I currently own 2 golden retrievers as well as 2 cross breed terriers that I rescued from Thailand whilst travelling and volunteering in animal sanctuaries.

I began an interest in dog grooming in 2010 when I started showing my golden retrievers  which I groom to the breed standard.  During this time I was regularly asked to groom friends’ golden retrievers in preparation for the show ring and have exhibited at Crufts on two occasions.  This developed into a passion for grooming so much so that I decided to set up my own dog grooming salon in May 2013.

I am qualified to Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists and trained at an award winning grooming acadamy in Somerset. I  am a member of the Pet Industry Federation, Groomers Spotlight and British Groomers Association and we are fully insured.
